My great grandfather was a member of 4th Battalion North Staffordshire Regiment and was killed on 05 Nov 1917. He is buried in the Red Cross Corner Cemetary near Cambrai. Does anyone know where he may have been killed and of any fighting that occured in that area at the time? Many Thanks

In a similar vein, my grandmother's brother (Corporal Archibald Pegler from the Gloucestershire Regiment), died on the 5th December when according to some accounts, the battle was over. I understand that his is one of the names on the memorial and so assume that he died in battle and his body lay unrecovered for some time. Is there any way that this could be confirmed?
Many thanks
